Adaptable Total Water Analysis and Management - ATWAM (Completed)

This project will deal with the challenges of setting the spatial boundaries of water resources management, and the non-existence of self-contained countries and basins when it comes to water. As there are trans-boundary basins from actual (liquid) water perspective, the significant movement of virtual water makes all countries trans-boundary from a “total” water perspective. Coupling the global virtual water network (trade) to national and basin-scale water management is necessary, and it is the focus of this project.
